Safety in Argentina & Brazil

If you keep in mind these basic safety precautions you will be sure to have a very enjoyable and safe journey.

Argentina and Brazil are generally quite safe countries in which to travel.

It is good to remember, however, that the majority of locals are poor in comparison to any tourist, so it is advisable, and a basic courtesy, especially in poorer areas, to not flaunt your wealth excessively and announce yourself as a potential target. Other precautions we recommend while travelling would be not to carry lots of unnecessary cash around with you in the street, and when going somewhere late at night, to go as a group of 2 or more and to take a taxis.
