The joining hotel is a small, charming hotel situated in the heart of downtown Buenos Aires. It is also directly opposite the Argentine Football Association.
Please note: Day 1 is an arrival day and no activities have been planned, so you may arrive at any time. Similarly the last day is a departure day in which no activities are planned.
Group Meeting
Your Tour Leader will organize a short meeting soon after arrival, where you will meet other tour participants and receive information about general and specific aspects of the trip. Look for a Football Adventures welcome notice in the reception area and if you can't find one, don't hesitate to ask the receptionist. This first official group meeting is usually arranged for the morning of Day 2 of the tour by which time all group members will have arrived, as some flights can arrive late at night on Day 1. If you do arrive late, the leader will leave you a message detailing what time and where you should meet the next morning.
The leader will usually also set a time for those who have arrived early, to meet in the evening of Day 1 to go out for dinner and drinks, and to explore the city at night for those who are keen.
How to get there
As international airfare is not included in the Football Adventures tour, you can make your own arrangements to get to Buenos Aires.
From the international airport in Buenos Aires (called 'Ezeiza'), it is very easy and safe to reach the joining hotel . The Ezeiza airport is modern and well ordered, and taxis can be organised from official taxi companies in the arrivals area, before you exit to the main area of the airport. The standard price for a taxi from the airport to the hotel is around 60 Argentine Pesos (about US$20 to $25), and it is about a 30 minute ride to the center of town.
Obtaining Argentine Pesos at the Airport
US Dollars, and to a lesser extent Euros, are generally accepted for money transactions in Argentina, however it is much more convenient and more economical to use Argentine Pesos. You can obtain these by exchanging foreign cash and travelers cheques in change houses, or by making a cash advance with your credit or debit card from an automatic teller machine. At the airport there is a change house in the arrivals area before you exit to the main area of the airport. There is another exchange house in the main area of the airport where the exchange rates are around 10% better than in the arrivals area. There are also a number of automatic teller machines in the airport from which you can get Argentine Pesos with a credit or debit card.
